Do you think there is an age limit to family? We are willing to bet you don’t. But for some reason, plenty of dentists in Lexington, KY like to bill themselves as “family” dentists even when they refuse to treat children. That is certainly not how we do things at Beaumont Family Dentistry.
We do not just serve families – we are one! Dr. Patricia Takacs’ two children, Drs. Ryan and Kyle Golibersuch, work here with her. So we understand how important it is to have a dentist you can trust for every member of your family.
Whether your child is ready for their first dental exam or someone you love is looking for dental implant options, we provide the same great care for folks of every age.
Take Your Kid To A Family Dentist To Get The Right Start
Your child’s very first visit to our office is all about their comfort and happiness. We will do as much of an exam as we can, but it’s a secondary priority. We want them to have a good time and enjoy their visit! While your little one is playing with our “squirt gun” and suction devices to demystify the dentist, we will answer any questions you have.
Make good dental habits priority #1 for tooth #1. Bring kids in at least twice a year once they are two years old so we can keep an eye on tooth development and start providing cleanings when necessary.
As teeth come in, we will begin cleaning them.
- We use special tools to remove plaque and tartar during dental appointments. This is where those initial visits will come in handy because once your child has been acclimated to our office, they won’t fear this process.
- We will then use a flavored paste to remove residual plaque and tartar and leave teeth shiny and clean.
- The last step is one of the most important: fluoride treatment. Fluoride gives your kid’s teeth a turbo-boost of protection against tooth decay, even repairing early damage.
Continue visiting us two times a year with your child, even as they get older and their schedule fills up. Tooth decay will not take a break for soccer practice! Prioritizing cleanings and exams will teach your teen that prevention is always better than treatment. If we start to have concerns about alignment we will discuss orthodontic options with you.
- Invisalign is a way for your teen to avoid “brace face” without having to avoid their favorite foods. Invisible aligners are hard to see and easy to wear.
- If metal braces are unavoidable, we can get your kid through them quickly with Fastbraces®. Fastbraces® are faster, more comfortable, and more efficient than traditional braces.
Don’t Forget About Yourself
Everything we encourage and offer for kids, we encourage and offer for you!
Your teeth need regular exams and cleanings as well as oral cancer screenings. Dentistry has come a long way in the last several years, and it is possible for your teeth to last your entire life. Practicing good oral hygiene and staying on top of your bi-annual cleanings will go a long way toward preserving your smile.
Wear and tear are unavoidable, though, and you may find that you need your smile upgraded after all these years. If your teeth are starting to show signs of age, we can make them look youthful and gorgeous again with cosmetic dentistry.
If you have not had the opportunity to keep all of your teeth, we can give you a smile that looks like you have. You may be missing several teeth or all of them, or perhaps you even need them removed. We can provide you with a full-mouth reconstruction to rebuild your smile.
