You have a lot to do between work and your family. So, you may not think you have time to fix those issues that have been bothering you about your teeth.
Your chipped tooth is a little bit embarrassing, but you’ve lived with it for this long, right? It doesn’t have to be that way any more.
It’s possible to fix many problems with your teeth, and thanks to CEREC crowns, those problems can be fixed in as little as one day.

What are crowns for?
Porcelain crowns are a great way to change the way your teeth look. This will change your smile, and maybe even improve your self-confidence.
But crowns offer more than cosmetic benefits. Our crowns provide added support for your natural teeth, which can keep them healthy for years to come.
Crowns can be used to change several different things you don’t like about your teeth, such as:
• Broken or chipped teeth – Crowns can cover a chip or crack, and they can restore the appearance of natural, whole tooth.
• Discolored teeth – If you’ve had tooth decay, you know it can permanently change the color of your tooth. This may make it stand out for all the wrong reasons. A crown can sit over the discolored tooth giving it a healthy, white appearance.
• Weak teeth – A tooth damaged by decay may not be as strong as the natural teeth around it. A crown can provide protection to prevent further damage to what remains of this tooth.
• Missing or decayed teeth – In some cases, a tooth that suffered from decay can be reshaped to be fitted with a crown. In other cases, that tooth may need to be removed, in which case a crown can be placed atop a dental implant to fill in the gap.
Crowns in one day
Most crowns require two visits to complete. During the first visit, the dentist makes a mold of your teeth to use when your crown is created. During your second visit, your crowns will be placed on your teeth.
Thanks to modern technology, we can use CEREC crowns to complete that process in a matter of hours. CEREC is an abbreviation for ceramic reconstruction. More importantly, it means faster service for our patients.
We start by making a digital image of your teeth. That image goes to our on-site milling machine, and our lab shapes and colors the crown to match your natural teeth.
Traditional crowns are made of metal with a porcelain covering. CEREC crowns are crafted entirely with porcelain in most cases. This is great for patients who may have an allergy to certain metals.
Some CEREC crowns do have cubic zirconia in the center for extra stability and strength, but again, this requires no metal.
We use porcelain because its color resembles real teeth and because it is a hardened substance that can hold up to the everyday reasons you need teeth. You won’t need to feel any concerns about chewing your food with your CEREC crowns in place.
When the crown is ready, we bond it to your tooth. Then, you are ready to go, with a smile that’s as good as new.
Look and feel your best
Living with teeth you don’t like can make you unhappy. A chipped or broken tooth, a tooth discolored by decay, or a tooth that is missing entirely can affect your smile and your self-esteem.
Don’t let your teeth hold you back. Don’t let your teeth affect your confidence. All you need is a part of a day, just a few hours out of your schedule, to restore your confidence in your smile.
Be proud of your teeth when your child or grandchild wants to snap a quick selfie for Instagram or Facebook. Smile big in that next family photo.
If you’ve been putting off fixing your teeth because you don’t have the time, at least make a call to one of our Beaumont Family Dentistry offices to learn more about CEREC crowns. Or if you are ready go ahead and schedule at appointment at one of our three Lexington locations.
