At Beaumont Family Dentistry, we believe in the importance of preventive dental care. In addition to the wide range of products and services we offer to help protect your teeth from disease and decay, we offer comfortable, customizable athletic mouth guards to help protect you or your child from injury. Below you will find some information on how our custom mouthguards can help protect you and on our various types of guards. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions or concerns you may have.
How Can a Mouthguard Help Me?
Our athletic mouthguards are great for people of all ages who are engaging in a sport or physical activity. Sports and other activities can often result in accidents (falls, collisions, etc.) that can affect your oral health. These accidents can cause the loss or damage of a tooth or potential tissue damage. Wearing an athletic and sports mouthguard can help to prevent these injuries by completely covering and securing the athlete’s teeth. Athletic mouthguards are a great way to prevent tooth loss, damage, or other tissue injury due to sports accidents.
These types of injuries can be especially detrimental for children. Because a child’s teeth and jaw are still developing, an injury, such as the loss of an adult tooth, can create repercussions that may require extensive dental or orthodontic work. And, of course, these accidents can be painful. Help your child avoid the pain and discomfort of a sports dental injury by utilizing our dental mouthguards. If you or your child have already experienced an accident and are seeking help for a dental emergency, visit our page to find out how we can help.
Comfortable, Customizable Athletic Mouthguards
We offer two types of athletic mouthguards. One is a mouth guard we can make in our office and can be ready to use the day after it is ordered. These often come in a standard thickness, but they are still customizable as far as the color is concerned. The other type is an Under Armour athletic mouthguard. These are made by a lab outside of the office and typically take about two weeks to make. These are completely customizable and can be created in whatever thickness is necessary for your particular activities. Below is a comparison of our two different types of sports mouthguards.
