Dental implants are a great option for patients who have missing teeth, either if it's a single missing tooth or multiple teeth that are missing for several reasons. One, if it's a single missing tooth and a patient wants to have that replaced, it's a great way to maintain the bone level that is in the patient's mouth.
Once a tooth is taken out, then the patient automatically starts to lose that bone level. So not only are you compromising the area where the tooth is lost, but you're compromising the bone around the adjacent teeth. So whenever you place an implant into that area, it actually holds the bone in that same location so that you don't get that bone loss over time.
So especially for a single missing tooth, it's a great option. And then we put a crown on top of that implant. So the patient can brush and floss just like it was a natural tooth. That's a great way to replace a single missing tooth.
Now, if a patient is missing multiple teeth, oftentimes in the past before patients used dental implants, they would have to have some type of removable appliance that came in and out like a complete denture or a partial denture.
Those are often uncomfortable for patients. Sometimes patients have difficulty eating with those in, or even speaking, especially with the complete upper denture that goes across the whole palate of their mouth. So it can affect their speech.
And then two, we can make dentures will look really good, but they can never look as good as what porcelain can look like. And so whenever we can do something in porcelain, it mimics and reflects the light, like a natural tooth does.
So if you have multiple missing teeth, then you can place multiple implants in those areas and do anything from an implant bridge where you're actually using that same porcelain and cementing that bridge into place so that it doesn't come in and out. Also there's other hybrid options with dentures where you can snap a denture or a partial in place so you don't get any mobility, that it stabilizes that denture, or that partial.
Obviously, there's other options where you can actually screw the entire appliance in so that it doesn't come in and out if you're missing a lot of teeth in place. So if you are interested in either just discussing or actually having implants placed, our office is a great location because it's someplace you can come and have the entire process taken care of from start to finish.

Transform Your Mouth With Teeth Implants
Drs. Golibersuch, Higginbotham, and Miller offer you many teeth replacement options using implants. We’ll be happy to answer all your questions about implants or our other services so that you completely understand your dental treatment.
Dental implants are small posts, usually made from titanium, that function as replacement tooth roots. Our dentist will surgically place them into your jaw, where they will chemically fuse with your jawbone. New bone material will actually grow around your implants over the course of a few months. In some cases, we can even remove a damaged tooth and place a new implant – all at the same appointment!
After your jaw has healed, your teeth implants can support several types of replacement teeth:
- Implant Crowns – We can design and create your new crown right in our office using the CAD/CAM technology of the CEREC system.
- Implant Bridges – Your bridge will anchor to two or more implants to make biting, chewing, and smiling easier.
- Implant-Retained Dentures – Secure your dentures with snaps and balls for a more stable fit than you can get with traditional dentures.
- Implant-Supported Dentures – Enjoy our most comfortable type of dentures. They will attach to a bar that is secured to your implants.
We Offer Oral Surgery, Too
If your jawbone has deteriorated, then oral surgery may be required before placing a dental implant. In those instances, we can work with you to complete a bone graft or other bone restructuring procedure. By building up the bone, you can receive a dental implant that will help you maintain healthy bone structure for the rest of your life.
With dental implants, Beaumont Family Dentistry offers teeth replacement options for anyone! Call 859-295-3938 for new patients, or call 859-368-8260 for existing patients today to schedule your consultation. We provide consultations regarding treatment for a minimal diagnostic fee.
