I'd always gone back and forth, being to other dental practices, them trying to whiten my teeth. I've been through the whiteners, I've been through Zoom Whitening, I've done the gels at home. Zoom Whitening is just a temporary fix. Yes, you have to use the gel trays afterwards, which was great. But even after that, I never got the result that I was really looking for. Being younger, in my 20s, I loved my smile back then. But then, of course, as I got older, had children, and then root canals, bridges, having issues with my teeth due to having braces several times, the enamel was coming off, color changed. I also thought about doing Lumineers. That was an option as well. Had talked to my other dental providers that I had in the past; I just never felt confident with them. Nothing to say bad about the practice, I just never felt confident in what they were telling me, that they could achieve the results that I wanted. I was told I'd have to do orthodontics again. And I really didn't want to go down that road if I didn't have to.
When I came to Beaumont Family Dentistry as a patient, I had several conversations about what my options might be: What do you think? Do you think I'll have to do Invisalign or braces again? And I was told that I wouldn't have to. To achieve the results that I wanted, I decided to go with veneers. It was something I decided on my own, but also I felt more confident on the information I received from Dr. G and his staff.
I would absolutely suggest that they make an appointment for a consultation and just speak with the dentist on what looks they're trying to achieve. Are they just trying to achieve a color change? Are they wanting to change the way their teeth look as far as are they straight enough? Are they not straight enough? There's so many options out there now that I think is awesome. You don't always have to go with the most expensive option. There's other options out there. There's take-home whitening kits. However, you can do in-office as well. But I feel if you're not absolutely happy with your smile when you look in the mirror, there's so many options out there. At least come see us so we can at least have a consultation with you to discuss what your options are.

A Calm and Relaxing Experience

I was terrified of going to a dentist. I hadn't been to a dentist in probably 15, 16 years. The last dentist I went to, I had a bad experience. So it just terrified me, and I had a lot of anxiety about it. One night I laid down and I was like, "God, please send me somewhere." And it was like, the most natural thing ever was. The next morning, Beaumont Dental come into my mind. And I don't know if it was a commercial I saw, what it was, but I picked up the phone. I talked to a guy, I told him my issues. I was like, "I don't know if y'all can keep me in there or what, but I'm going to try." He just thought, "Okay."
Well, I didn't hear back, because it's when COVID was going really rampant. So I went on vacation and all that vacation I was in so much pain. I mean, I couldn't enjoy my kids, anything. That next morning I called, I talked with them, and they got me in here within a week. And I came in. I was nervous, but after five minutes in there, they could have done anything, and I would have been calm.
Well, I had some back teeth that was neglected. I had cavities. I'm a one-time-a-day brusher. Whenever the dentist was talking to me, he was like, "Do you take good care of your teeth?" I was like, "You see them. I'm a one-time-a-day brusher." And I had some issues up here I didn't like. I couldn't smile. I wouldn't smile.
Like I said, you go into the room, and what would scare me is whenever I would go into a dental office, you'd see all the needles, all the medicine. You'd just see everything. I walked into the room, and it was just like going into a regular room. The dental chair was only thing recognizable. Tracy, she talked with me and we sat there. Everything she did, she told me. And I was that comfortable. The dentist came in, did what he needed to do. And I didn't panic. I didn't run away. And then I ended up having dental implants, and that had been a dream of mine. But like I said, the fear, it was overwhelming. And I couldn't do it, but they just made you feel just so calm and at peace. I can't explain it, but it was like I said, Tracy, the morning that I came in, it was like within 30 minutes, it was like I knew I was ... well, within five minutes, I knew I was going to be fine. But after about 30 minutes, I knew I was going to follow through with it and do everything they needed me to do.
