Imagine that you’ve been told your child needs orthodontic treatment. Maybe you and your child have talked about braces or Invisalign on several occasions, as well as the timeline on beginning their treatment.
However, with the hectic schedule of school, sports, and other activities, the timing never seemed right to begin their treatment. You couldn’t see yourself fitting in your child’s orthodontic care around band practice, basketball practice, or other after-school activities.
Allow us to give you a suggestion. With the school year soon ending, now is a great time to think about beginning your child’s orthodontic treatment. If one or more of your kids are dealing with a crooked and uneven smile, you can start their orthodontic care during the less-hectic summer months.
Starting their treatment this summer means they won’t have the responsibilities of school to keep up with while they’re getting used to braces or teeth aligners. And you won’t have to juggle getting them to and from other activities during this time.
The smile experts at Beaumont Family Dentistry would be glad to help you and your child out with their orthodontic care. Dr. Takacs has been an integral part of the dental community here in Lexington for well over 30 years.
Over that time, she and her team have helped many, many teens and adults get a straighter, more beautiful smile. Just like we have for others, we can improve your child’s smile, too!
If you’ve consulted elsewhere about your child’s treatment, we’d be happy to provide you a second opinion about their orthodontic care. Just like you would any other kind of medical treatment, it can never hurt to get input from another professional.

Choose From Three Great Orthodontic Options
At Beaumont Family Dentistry, we believe in giving you and your child choices when it comes to orthodontic care. We see many types of patients, and we understand that a single treatment is not right for everybody.
Many of our teenage patients enjoy Invisalign treatment. Rather than metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a system of clear teeth aligners to straighten crooked smiles.
Kids love that the aligners don’t stand out like metal braces do! Plus, Invisalign treatment is comfortable. The nearly-invisible trays are made of smooth plastic so they won’t rub any sensitive areas in their mouth.
Your child can easily remove their aligners for eating, brushing, or for a special occasion. As long as they wear them for at least 22 hours a day, their treatment time should remain on target. With Invisalign, your child could complete their teeth straightening in as few as 12 months. That means they can get back to being a kid again without worrying about how their teeth look.
If your child is not a candidate for Invisalign, we also offer clear ceramic braces. Just like their full-metal counterpart, traditional metal braces, this type of orthodontics will straighten severely crooked or misaligned teeth. However, we’ll use clear ceramic brackets that won’t detract as much from the natural beauty of their smile.
Your child will get all the great benefits of traditional braces, but with a more discreet look. If they want, we can even customize their treatment with colored elastics for a punch of color or school spirit!
If your child is 13 or older, they may be a good candidate for Fastbraces®. This innovative orthodontic treatment uses a system of triangular brackets and high-tech wires to move teeth much quicker than traditional orthodontic treatment can.
Unlike regular metal braces, Fastbraces® moves both the teeth roots and crowns at the same time, cutting the total treatment time dramatically. Your child complete their Fastbraces® treatment in between three and 12 months!
Plus, many patients report lower levels of sensitivity and discomfort using the Fastbraces® method. As a parent, naturally you want the most comfortable treatment possible for your child. And since the treatment time is shorter, with fewer total office visits, Fastbraces® is usually less expensive than traditional braces. It’s a win-win for you!
