If you could have any superpower, what power would you want to have?
Would you want super strength, super speed, or the ability to fly?
How about the ability to see in the future? We can’t help with the first three, but our team at Beaumont Family Dentistry can give you a limited view of one possibility in your future.
Granted, seeing what your future smile could look like may not be the superpower on the top of your list, but it does have a practical benefit. It can help you decide if you would be interested in cosmetic dentistry.
If you live in Central Kentucky, you can start by scheduling a consultation at any of our three dentist offices in Lexington.
Start With The Ending
Before you do anything, we want to find out what you would like to change about your teeth.
Do you have a big event coming up when you know lots of pictures will be taken, or would you like to do something that will give you a boost to your self-confidence?
We have a number of procedures and services that we can mix and match to give you the exact smile that you want to see in the mirror each morning before you go to work.
One of the things we can do is have a wax-up made of what your smile could look like based on the things that you want to change. You can see for yourself what could be different about your smile.
Once you understand what is possible, we can help you develop a plan on how to get there.
The Steps On The Path
Sometimes a smile makeover can be as simple as a single procedure. Other times, it may involve taking two or more steps from start to finish.
We are here to help you plot and navigate your course so you can end up where you want to be.
With that in mind, here are some stepped stones you may want to consider:
✦ Professional teeth whitening — Our teeth become stained by the things that we eat and drink. And as we live longer (and eat and drink more things), it’s common for our teeth to become darker or yellower.
Professional teeth whitening products are the fastest and most effective ways to remove those stains from our teeth.
✦ Dental bonding — Stains aren’t the only slow developing change that can occur to your teeth. If you have a habit of biting into hard and crunchy foods, then you can wear down your teeth over time. If you bite into something that’s a little too hard, you may find that a part of a tooth has chipped off instead.
Dental bonding can repair the parts of your teeth that have worn down or chipped away.
✦ Gum reshaping — A gummy smile can make it hard for people to see your teeth. You may have “short” teeth that did not erupt very far from your gumline. You also may have more gum tissue than you might like.
In either case, we can use dental lasers to reshape your gums. By removing some of the gum tissue, we can reveal more of your teeth when you share your smile.
✦ Tooth reshaping — Maybe you have a couple teeth that just look big in comparison to the teeth around them. It may be possible to bring them in line with tooth reshaping.
✦ Dental crowns — Dental crowns can be used to address multiple issues. If one of your teeth is injured in some way, it may have changed colors. If one of your teeth is broken, it may need to be restored.
If one of your teeth looks too small compared to its neighbors, then a dental crown can be added so it fits in better with the rest of your smile.
✦ Orthodontics — If your teeth are crooked, crowded, or have gaps between them, orthodontic treatments like Invisalign®, Fastbraces®, and traditional braces can help.
These treatments can also be used to correct issues you may be having with the alignment of your bite.
✦ Veneers — Veneers can be used to address multiple issues simultaneously. Sometimes, this can be a shortcut to the smile you want to achieve.
