Resolve Receding Gums in One Visit at Lexington Family Dental Practice
LEXINGTON, KY – Two Lexington family dentists recently completed training to offer a noninvasive procedure for patients struggling with receding gums.
Dr. Patricia Takacs, who operates Beaumont Family Dentistry, completed training with her daughter Dr. Kyle Golibersuch in the revolutionary Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique. This treatment serves as an alternative to invasive gum grafting surgery in that it requires no scalpels or cutting of the gums.
“The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique is a game-changer in the way we treat gum recession. It’s much more comfortable than conventional gum grafting and gives patients incredible, long-lasting results,” Dr. Takacs said. “With this new treatment, out patients can sit in the chair and see the results right before their eyes. That’s a luxury you do not have with traditional gum grafting.”
Gum recession can be caused by a number of problems, most commonly gum disease, which is the number one cause of tooth loss in adults. Receding gums can expose the roots of the teeth, putting them at a higher risk of developing tooth decay or even failing.
The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique can be completed in one visit. The doctor makes a small hole in the gums and then manipulates the gums into a more appropriate position. Once the gums are in place, the doctors place collagen strips to keep the tissue in place.
“Our patients are excited to resolve their gum recession problems in one visit and avoid extensive gum surgery,” Dr. Takacs said.
